Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Technician to join our team for the 2024/25 winter season. As a Workshop Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality boot customization and repair services in our state-of-the-art workshop. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ski and snowboard boot fitting, repair, and modification, along with a strong attention to detail and passion for winter sports. This position requires a valid work visa for Japan and is a part-time, seasonal role with shifts in the evening.
Key Responsibilities:
Boot Customization: Perform boot fitting, shell modifications, footbed customization, and liner modifications to ensure optimal comfort and performance for each customer.
Boot Repairs: Carry out a range of boot repairs, including sole replacements, buckle adjustments, liner repairs, and general maintenance.
Technical Support: Provide expert advice and guidance to customers regarding boot care, fitting, and adjustments to enhance their skiing/snowboarding experience.
Workshop Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their needs, take measurements, and suggest appropriate modifications or repairs based on their requirements.
Collaboration: Work closely with the retail team to ensure smooth communication between the workshop and the front-of-house operations.
Quality Control: Ensure that all boot customization and repair work meets the high standards set by Boot Solutions.
Seasonal Shift Coverage: Work during evening shifts, providing workshop services to customers during busy periods and peak season hours.
Requirements:
Valid Work Visa for Japan for the duration of the seasonal position.
Proven experience in ski and snowboard boot fitting, customization, and repair (at least 1-2 seasons of relevant experience is preferred).
Strong technical knowledge of boot design, fitting processes, and boot repair techniques.
Ability to work with specialized tools and equipment in a professional workshop environment.
Attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality, precise work under pressure.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with customers.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Passion for winter sports and a strong understanding of the importance of proper boot fit for performance and comfort.
Availability to work evening shifts, weekends, and during the busy peak season.
